Living Worship Challenge
As we enter into a new year we face many challenges, but the greatest of these will be how we worship God in our daily lives. I have been spending some time with Pastor Dane Miller of Serenity Baptist Church and he has challenged his members to worship God 24/7. As he was asking them to step up to this challenge, God was speaking to me that all of the family of God needs to step up to this challenge.
Pastor Miller said that a lot of folks have been asking for tools to have this “Living Worship”. So he gave two tools to reach this “Living Worship” and the first one is:

HOW THEN DO I LIVE?

  •  Anticipate Jesus already present and active where you are at
  •  See others through the eyes of the risen Christ
  •  Is this my stuff, or is it Jesus? Your way or His way?
  •  Worship takes place everywhere – so use peaceful words, song, short scripture, pray simply (ex. “Jesus wept” for them and you)
  •  Aim your life at worship every moment – a conscious target
In order use the first tool we need to have the second tool in us. This second tool will require us to spend some time in quiet with God and the biblical text. We will read the biblical text as a family on the same days each week. I asked Pastor Miller if I could place his challenge on our website for all to step up to worshipping God 24/7. Here is the second tool:
