“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
(Philippians 4:8, 9)”
A CALL TO PRAYER
|
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their
sin, and will heal their land.”
|
Matthew 18:19-20 (KJV) “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or
three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
|
Come join us in a time of prayer. If you cannot be here, we can still be together by you setting this time for prayer with us. On the fourth Monday of each month starting September 26, 2011 at (GMT/UTC -7) 7:00pm until 8:00pm
you are invited to attend A CALL TO PRAYER at 5624 South Mission Road, Tucson, AZ. The purpose of this CALL TO PRAYER is "To ask the body of Christ to surrender to the Holy Spirit so that those who left the body will
return and those who do not know Jesus Christ will come to him.(Surrender means letting go of political parties, self-glory, self-will, and denomination.)

Moving to Let God Touch Others Through Me
|
As we enter 2011, we come with thoughts of a better year than 2010. This brings to my mind 1 Corinthians 2:9: “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (KJV).” Yet in order to see and comprehend what God is doing and has done, we need to step outside of our little world.
For the past two years, I have asked you to do two things, which are:
1) The Living Worship Challenge
2) A Journey through Proverbs
Now I am asking you to take the next step in being what God has called us to be, the light and salt in our Families and communities. I am asking you to read these special books
and see how God used the authors to effect their communities and generations. You see, if you have been working on those things that you were assigned to do for the last two years, you have a lot of God in you which needs
to come to the world.
As you read the works of these authors, ask yourself some questions about them and seek answers to them:
When did they live?
What were their lives like?
Why did they move people?
Here is one of the authors that you will read, C.S. Lewis.
C.S Lewis was born Clive Staples ("Jack") Lewis in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on November 29, 1898. His mother died when he was 10 years old. To cope with tragedy, Jack began to
write stories and to study. C.S. Lewis had been a Christian and baptized as a child. He would turn to atheism until his conversion to Christianity at the age of 33, in September 1931. He devoted the rest of his life to
writing about faith and the Christian experience. His most famous work is the 7 volumes of the "Chronicles of Narnia," published between 1950 and 1956. C.S. Lewis has “…had an enormous impact on more than a generation of
readers who sought wisdom, accessible theology, practical logic and imagination (Christian Book Distributor.com).”
The First book we are reading here at the church is John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress. You can find
an online copy of it on the leftside of this page. It is not in the Modren English. Please join us in the reading of this book.
